The Defence School Transition Aide (DSTA) supports Defence Members and their families, particularly during posting periods.
This position has a great variety of duties and can include a mix of the following:
· being a contact for families coming into the area
· assist the school and families with enrolment procedures
· introduce ADF families to the school and facilities
· monitor children’s day-to-day personal issues such as friendships
· supporting individual children’s needs as required
· maintaining contact with ADF Families who are enrolled in the school
· responding to routine telephone calls and enquiries associated with the position's duties
· provide opportunities for ADF families to meet other ADF families
· enhancing the relationship between the School and its Defence community
Duties are flexible so to allow maximum help for Defence families.
The DSTA position at Eatons Hill State School was established in September 2005.
